AppSys ICT Group has its roots in Belgium and a subsidiary in the Netherlands. The full-service ICT company provides its services to SMBs, large enterprises, and the public sector. It offers services such as application delivery, virtualization, server-based computing, collaboration, and cloud solutions. When Carglass approached the company, AppSys explained the benefits of a VoIP telephony solution compared to their old fixed line. The company advised Carglass on a package including hardware from Snom, a cloud infrastructure, support, and the necessary software. Out of three quotes, Carglass decided to choose AppSys' solution.

3CX VoIP

The system, now deployed across Carglass' 57 locations, runs on 3CX VoIP software, supplemented with software clients that can be installed on laptops and smartphones. The flexibility of this system became apparent when remote working became the norm. Carglass employees were able to support customers from their laptops at home. A mix of desk phones and DECT devices has been deployed in the workplace.

Eric Knops, Sales Engineer at AppSys ICT Group in the Netherlands, explains the choice for Snom: "We used phones from another manufacturer for our installations before, but the latest firmware versions never included Dutch language packs. As a result, our customers' phones were always three to four firmware versions behind when they wanted to use the Dutch interface. We then looked for a better solution and came across Snom." Snom releases every firmware update in all available languages. Another reason for AppSys to collaborate with Snom was the extensive portfolio of phones for all imaginable settings, including various types of desk phones, portable and robust DECT devices, as well as powerful base stations with multiple cells, enabling reliable phone connections wherever users move within their locations.

Differentiating from competition

Carglass is satisfied with the telephony solution deployed by AppSys. Cor ter Braake of Carglass summarizes: "The transition to VoIP went smoothly, and the impact is greater than we had hoped. The new system is flexible, and our phone bills have been drastically reduced. The audio quality is also better, not to mention the up-to-date firmware with user interfaces in Dutch thanks to the Snom hardware."
