Share

#AppSysOnTheRoad - Over the past few weeks, AppSys has been present at various events across Europe. We started last week in Madrid, where the Dell UDS EMEA Summit took place. Our Technical Presales Wesley Wienen and Jeroen Nuytens were there. Last week, Kris Nijs participated in Canalys in Barcelona, and at the same time, Raf Wellens and Katrien Verhoeven were present in Stockholm for the Clavister partner event. In this #AppSysStory, you'll find a brief summary of the three events.

Dell UDS EMEA Summit in Madrid
Did you know that 90% of all data is unstructured? Unstructured data and the challenges associated with it were the main topic in Madrid. With the rise of AI and the need for business intelligence, it's becoming increasingly important to be able to store a portion of your data. There's a lot of information to be found in your unstructured data for innovation and gaining new business insights.
But it's not easy. Unstructured data pose challenges in terms of data type and volume. And especially the latter makes it much more difficult to provide a good backup. More and more organizations are facing these problems, and it's important for us to support you well in this area. Solutions presented during the event include the Dell PowerScale and ECS, which ensure that data is securely, transparently, and efficiently available to an organization.
Together with Dell, we provide an end-to-end ecosystem that gives your organization the ability to store, filter, analyze, and manage unstructured data.
Canalys in Barcelona

Also in Spain, but a bit more to the northeast, specifically in Barcelona, Canalys took place this week. At the Canalys event, over 3000 participants from "the channel" come together every year to discuss and discover the latest IT trends. The Canalys Forums event is one of the most important IT events in the world, as they are the global leader in market analysis and events for the IT partner ecosystem.
This year, the rise of generative AI was in the spotlight, marking a turning point for the technology industry. Canalys expects AI-compatible PCs to experience rapid growth in the market within the next four years. Furthermore, the importance of the IT partner was often emphasized. Because to succeed in the current landscape, closer collaboration between suppliers, partners, and distributors is more important than ever.
Every year, predictions are also made at Canalys. Here are the predictions for 2026:
- Alastair Edwards - "More than 40% of customers will fail to comply with new EU regulations on sustainability and emissions, more than in the first two years of GDPR."
- Jay McBain - "Generative AI will become an integrated/embedded feature in most software and hardware products - at no additional cost."
- Matthew Ball - "15 out of the 20 most powerful supercomputers will be owned by companies."
- Alex Smith - "A quarter of all coding will be produced by individuals without formal programming training."
At AppSys, we are very curious about what the future will bring.

Clavister partner event in Stockholm
Stockholm was once again focused on cybersecurity. During the event, the spotlight was mainly on "Made in Europe" and "a new era of European cyber defense". Especially for public agencies and crucial institutions, it becomes increasingly important to opt for security solutions made within Europe and therefore fully in European hands. During the sessions, there were repeated discussions about the looming war in Ukraine and the influence of China and America on our data and current security landscape.
Clavister may not be very well known in Belgium yet, but that could change soon. Clavister is a leading European provider of cybersecurity with over 25 years of experience. The company is based in Sweden and has customers - communication service providers, governments, enterprises, and managed security service providers (MSSPs) - in more than 150 countries. The company offers unique cybersecurity solutions to protect and ensure the security of data and business continuity. Since 2014, the company has been listed on Nasdaq First North and is part of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO).
Therefore, Clavister is an interesting partner for AppSys, as together we can provide important institutions within the public sector with a fully European security solution.
